Angela Cheng-Cimini joined Harvard Business Publishing as Senior Vice President of Talent and Chief Human Resources Officer in 2021. In this role, Ms. Cheng-Cimini leads the Human Resources and Facilities & Administration units, spearheading efforts to develop a talent roadmap that supports the business strategy and creates a deeply engaged and diverse workforce.

Ms. Cheng-Cimini brings 30 years of both generalist and specialist human resources experience, having worked across consumer product goods, professional services, and high tech as well as nonprofits. She has shepherded businesses through startup, growth, and maturity, with key responsibility for helping organizations identify and build the necessary organizational capabilities.

Prior to joining Harvard Business Publishing, Ms. Cheng-Cimini was at ClearMotion, Inc., an automotive technology startup, where she accelerated the evolution of the HR function from administrative to strategic. She also served as the Global Head of Human Resources for Crabtree & Evelyn, where she led an international team spanning four continents and prepared the brick-and-mortar business to go completely digital.

Ms. Cheng-Cimini sits on the Alumni Board of Directors for Cornell University; serves as an HR Venture Adviser for SemperVirens, an early-stage venture fund that invests in technology transforming healthcare, work, and financial wellness; and is Board Director for the T. Howard Foundation, a mission-driven organization dedicated to increasing diversity in the media industry.

JR Keller is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Studies in the ILR School at Cornell University. His research focuses on how firms combine internal and external hiring to meet their human capital needs as well as the various ways individuals build careers within and across organizations. Professor Keller has explored the factors which lead firms to hire externally versus promote from within, supply chain approaches to talent management, and the use of nonstandard work arrangements. His work has appeared in the Administrative Science Quarterly, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, ILR Review, and the Annual Review of Organizational Psychology and Organizational Behavior, as well as a recent book on strategic talent management. Professor Keller earned his Ph.D. in Management from the Wharton School of Business and holds a Master’s in Adult Education from Indiana University along with undergraduate degrees in Finance and Computer Applications from the University of Notre Dame.
