General Keith Alexander (retd.) is the founder, chairman, and co-CEO of IronNet Cybersecurity, one of the foremost authorities on cybersecurity in the world. A retired four-star U.S. Army General, he was previously the highest-ranked military official of the U.S. Cyber Command and National Security Agency, leading these Department of Defense agencies during conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq when attempted cyberattacks against the U.S. were on the rise. General Alexander built IronNet to bring expertise and experience to the private sector and fill a critical gap between cyberthreats and available security technology. Jamil Jaffer is Senior Vice President for Strategy, Partnerships, and Corporate Development at IronNet Cybersecurity. Professor Jaffer leads IronNet’s strategic and technology partnership efforts, including developing go-to-market and technology integration plans with some of the largest cloud platforms and cybersecurity companies in the market, evaluating potential acquisition targets, and developing overall corporate strategy and thought leadership around collective security and collaborative defense in the cyber arena. Additionally, Professor Jaffer is the founder and Executive Director of the National Security Institute; Director of the National Security Law and Policy Program at the Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University; and a member of numerous academic, corporate, and policy boards. He also served as a legal advisor in the George W. Bush administration and clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch. Professor Jaffer holds degrees with honors from UCLA, the University of Chicago Law School, and the U.S. Naval War College.
Sarah E. Kreps is the John L. Wetherill Professor in the Cornell University Department of Government, Adjunct Professor of Law, and Director of the Cornell Tech Policy Lab. She has written five books that explore the intersection of international politics, technology, and national security, including “Drone Warfare” (2014) and “Drones: What Everyone Needs to Know” (2016). Professor Kreps is also a nonresident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and has held fellowships at the Council on Foreign Relations, Harvard University, West Point, and the University of Virginia. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, a Master of Science degree from Oxford University, and a Doctorate from Georgetown. Between 1999 and 2003, Professor Kreps served as an active-duty U.S. Air Force officer.
