The growth of secure messaging applications and social media platforms poses a troubling paradox. While they can be used in beneficial ways, such as for enhanced efficiency in the workplace, these platforms can also be detrimental, making it easier for security crises like cyberattacks. This panel discussion will explore how the United States can best secure the dual-use technologies that have become so critical to both private industry and public institutions. We’ll get insight from the experiences of two cybersecurity experts: General (Ret.) Keith Alexander, Founder and Co-CEO of IronNet Cybersecurity, and Professor Jamil Jaffer, IronNet Senior Vice President. A global authority in online security, IronNet integrates operational and legal expertise to help governments mitigate vulnerabilities in cyberspace, especially in light of society’s increased dependence on digital networks and technologies.
