Eli Rosenberg ’06 (CALS), Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the University at Albany School of Public Health who is committed to epidemiological work on infectious diseases that improves the health of persons in New York state and nationally. He received his Ph.D. in epidemiology from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. Dr. Rosenberg’s research centers on applied and analytic studies that address current public health challenges in HIV, sexually transmitted infections, viral hepatitis, and emerging infectious diseases, with a focus on surveillance, prevention, and social determinants. His work has been funded by and conducted in collaboration with the New York State Department of Health, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and National Institutes of Health.

Event Overview
In this virtual presentation, we will review how the COVID-19 epidemic emerged in New York state, how our scientific understanding and policies developed to the present day, and what we might expect for the remainder of 2021. Following the presentation, we will have an open question-and-answer period with Dr. Eli Rosenberg.
An Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the University at Albany School of Public Health, Dr. Rosenberg specializes in the epidemiology of infectious diseases. Since the outset of the pandemic, he has worked closely with the New York State Department of Health on activities and studies addressing critical aspects of SARS-CoV-2 transmission, surveillance, prevention, and treatment.
