At eCornell, online certificate programs are delivered in two flexible formats designed to meet different learning styles and scheduling needs. The majority of programs are offered in a cohort-based format, while select certificates are available through our Mentored Learning model.

- Both Cohort-Based and Mentored Learning Certificates deliver exceptional impact with content personally developed by Cornell University faculty and led by expert facilitators using eCornell’s dynamic learning platform. You will engage with activities and projects to gain skills that can be immediately applied in your organization and to furthering your career development goals.
- Cohort-Based Certificates are designed to provide a small class experience with engaging discussions and live sessions allowing for peer interaction and knowledge sharing. Your expert facilitator will provide personalized feedback on all projects and will participate in the discussion boards as you progress through the course experience. To simplify scheduling for busy working professionals, the cohort-based certificate programs are divided into short courses, each 2-3 weeks in length with specific start and end dates for each course in the series.
- Mentored Learning Certificates are designed for individuals seeking a start now, immediate access approach without peer engagement. The certificate program content is housed in a single long-course and you are given a full six months to complete all required components. You may choose to complete the program in fewer than six months depending on your schedule – dive in for a focused month of learning or spread your journey over six months – the choice is yours. Your expert facilitator will provide personalized feedback on all projects, and will invite you to optional 1:1 mentoring sessions as you progress through the program.
