We can always find a way to justify our choices — even the bad ones. But our reasons are actually based far less on rational thinking than we’d like to believe. Instead, we make decisions using stories we tell ourselves about who we are — from “I like to be efficient,” to “I trust my gut,” to “I can make a rational decision.” Yet these deeply ingrained stories, or myths, often don’t lead to better decisions.
Join us for this webinar with Cheryl Strauss Einhorn, creator of the AREA Method — a decision-making system for solving complex problems — to find out why we rely so heavily on decision-making myths, how these myths get perpetuated, and how to check yourself to make better decisions. Along the way, Professor Einhorn will bust some of our most cherished beliefs: that we are “too busy” to invest time in making good decisions; that we are “rational” and capable of solving thorny, high-stakes problems in our heads; and that our decisions are personal and don’t need to involve anyone else.
