Innovators and entrepreneurs around the world are solving today’s challenges backed with the latest open-source technologies and rapid prototyping equipment in their garages, shops, and laboratories. What started as a maker movement of tinkerers and hobbyists has developed into an accessible world of self-taught inventors and developers who can not only prototype their idea but manufacture products to take to market.
In this discussion hosted by the Center for Regional Economic Advancement at Cornell University, we will focus on how these hobbyists and makers transition to innovators, inventors, and entrepreneurs. With specific insights into accessibility, we’ll follow along with the early days of the maker movement and discover how hardware has become accessible to innovators of any background as well as how “maker” technologies have evolved to bridge the gap to manufacturing.
