Where do preppy style, the African diaspora, and 1930s French couture intersect? Inside the Cornell Fashion + Textile Collection (CF+TC), a gallery and repository of nearly 10,000 garments, flat textiles, and accessories from around the world and dating from the late 18th century to today. Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the collection led by Denise Nicole Green, associate professor and CF+TC Director.

Professor Green will share her favorite pieces and highlights from recent CF+TC fashion exhibitions and take you inside the collection’s newly renovated, state-of-the-art storage facility. The CF+TC mounts approximately three exhibitions each year as part of its mission to advance knowledge of the cultural, historical, scientific, and aesthetic aspects of fashion and textiles.
  • The history of the Cornell Fashion + Textile Collection and how it’s used today
  • How garments and textiles are maintained in a museum setting
  • Details of the newly renovated CF+TC storage area
  • The impact of CF+TC through public exhibitions, teaching, and research at Cornell
