Cyriac Roeding is an American‑German serial entrepreneur and investor in Silicon Valley, focused on the intersection of the physical and digital worlds.
Earli, Roeding’s fourth company, is a BioAI firm developing intravenously injected genetic switches that activate only in cancer cells, reprogramming them to trigger the immune system against the disease. The company has raised $105M from investors including a16z, Khosla, Perceptive, Alex Gorsky (former J&J CEO), and others. Earli’s SAB includes Jim Allison (Nobel Laureate) and Bob Langer (MIT, co‑founder of Moderna).
Roeding has invested in more than 20 startups, among them OpenAI and VC funds (a16z, Founders Fund, and Greylock). His previous startup, Shopkick, was acquired for $250M, delivering an 11x return for lead investor Kleiner Perkins.
Roeding sold his first computer program in Germany at age 15, coded for HP while in high school, and studied Japanese Management in Tokyo. At 25, he co‑authored the Harvard Business Press book “Secrets of Software Success” while working at McKinsey. The World Economic Forum named him a Global Innovator.
