Sustainability has grown as a global corporate trend since the climate crisis became a palpable reality. To address the urgency of this ongoing crisis, companies have undertaken initiatives dealing with carbon neutrality, renewable energy, the circular economy, and other sustainability goals at the request of their consumers, shareholders, and employees.

At its core, sustainable design encourages an integrated, holistic approach to innovation which takes into account the entire life cycle of a product, building, or service, seeking to reduce negative impacts on the environment and the well-being of humans at all phases.

As the business world elevates sustainability within its enterprise performance management, it is becoming necessary to create tools, processes, and frameworks that foster sustainable innovation, solving environmental and social challenges while using sustainable design as their guiding philosophy. In this event hosted by Cornell University’s Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise, you’ll hear from three seasoned experts who take diverse strategies and approaches to sustainable design.
  • The benefits of sustainable design
  • Key design and sustainability elements for new initiatives and ventures
  • Strategies for incorporating a sustainable agenda from the initial concept stage
