NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik ’91 will discuss the role of dissenting writers in countries around the world – including Russia, China, and Belarus – with PEN America CEO Suzanne Nossel and Belarusan poet Valzhyna Mort, Associate Professor of Literatures in English in the College of Arts and Sciences, in an A&S Distinguished Visiting Journalist program.

The event will explore book banning in the U.S., the role of society toward dissident writers, the role of dissenting writers in countries around the world, and more. “Dissident Writers” is one of Cornell’s Freedom of Expression theme-year events.
