Dr. Nadine Fiani is a Clinical Associate Professor of Dentistry and Oral Surgery at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University. She successfully met the American Veterinary Dental College requirements and became a Diplomate of the AVDC in 2013. During her residency at the University of California, Davis, Dr. Fiani gained extensive training and expertise in all aspects of dentistry, such as periodontics, endodontics, orthodontics, and prosthodontics. Specifically, her training in oral and maxillofacial surgery includes maxillofacial reconstruction using AO and minimally invasive approaches, as well as oncologic and regenerative surgeries.

Overview
In this 4.5-hour online course we comprehensively cover intraoral radiography in the dog. Our primary objective is to provide the learner with the skills and knowledge to obtain diagnostic images and to be able to interpret them efficiently and accurately in the clinical setting. We will cover the equipment required to take intraoral radiographs, review the normal radiographic anatomy, provide detailed explanations on how to obtain each projection, and how to correct common mistakes. The lessons will ultimately help the participant to systematically interpret pathological processes using real clinical cases. This course is composed of eight lessons covering understanding the benefits of intraoral radiology, radiographic equipment, normal radiographic anatomy refresher, principles of intraoral radiology, obtaining intraoral radiographs: step by step, troubleshooting common mistakes, orienting intraoral radiographs – labial mounting, and interpreting intraoral radiographs.

Dr. Santiago Peralta is an Associate Professor of Dentistry and Oral Surgery at Cornell University. He is board-certified by the American Veterinary Dental College. Dr. Peralta obtained his DVM from Universidad de la Salle in Colombia, and residency training in dentistry and oral surgery at the University of California at Davis. He spent 2 years in clinical referral practice in Colombia prior to becoming a faculty member at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
