About Laura Melissa Guzman
Dr. Laura Melissa Guzman focuses on improving insect conservation by developing statistical methods that make better use of available data. Dr. Guzman’s research examines whether and how statistical models can be applied to historical records without yielding biased trends and on how the distribution of pollinators has changed through time.
Dr. Guzman is also interested in determining which drivers are most negatively impacting pollinator species in different regions of North America. She works to translate her research into potential insect conservation solutions, including using findings on plant–pollinator interactions to prioritize native plants that more effectively support pollinator communities.
