Hua Wang, Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer in the Engineering Communications program at Cornell University, where she teaches and conducts research in technical communication, intercultural communication, engineering communication pedagogy, and responsible AI. Professor Wang’s work focuses on equipping engineering students with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly, collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and cultural contexts, and make ethically informed communication decisions in AI-enabled workplaces.
Professor Wang has led interdisciplinary and international projects involving engineering students, community partners, and global collaborators to examine how generative AI shapes language, culture, and ethical decision making, as well as how it is transforming communication, teamwork, and professional practice across diverse cultural settings.
Professor Wang holds a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Technical Communication and has published widely on technical communication, cross-cultural communication, and engineering education. In her teaching, she emphasizes the development of practical, transferable skills that enable students to communicate clearly, responsibly, and effectively with and about AI, particularly in contexts characterized by uncertainty, risk, and cross-cultural collaboration.
