The current COVID-19 crisis has quickly forced teams around the world to work remotely with little preparation. Many of the employees who are now asked to do their jobs from home may not be prepared physically or emotionally to work under this new and stressful situation. This rapid and unexpected shift to remote work requires leaders to set the tone for their teams, and to clearly communicate what is expected of each member, establish clear roles and responsibilities, reinforce the importance of their employees’ work, and manage deliverables and timelines.
On Wednesday, March 25th, Cornell faculty experts will discuss how leaders can quickly rise to the challenge of leading remote teams and keeping them engaged and productive in these uncertain times.
This one hour discussion will feature ILR School Professor of Human Resource Studies Brad Bell, SC Johnson College of Business Professor of Management Elizabeth Mannix, ILR Executive Education Senior Extension Faculty Tony Byers, and ILR School Associate Professor and Chair of HR Studies Diane Burton, who will moderate.
