David Sherwyn is the John and Melissa Ceriale Professor of Hospitality Human Resources and a Professor of Law at Cornell University’s Nolan School of Hotel Administration. He is also the academic director of the Cornell Center for Innovative Hospitality Labor and Employment Relations as well as a research fellow at the Center for Labor and Employment Law at New York University’s School of Law. In addition, Professor Sherwyn is of counsel to the law firm of Stokes & Wagner. Prior to joining the School of Hotel Administration, Professor Sherwyn practiced management-side labor and employment law for six years.

Professor Sherwyn has published articles in the Arizona State Law Review, Berkeley Journal of Labor and Employment Law, Cornell Hospitality Quarterly, Fordham Law Review, University of California Hastings Law Journal, Indiana Law Journal, Northwestern Law Review, Stanford Law Review, and the University of Pennsylvania Labor and Employment Law Journal. His research interests include arbitration of discrimination lawsuits and union-management relations.

Dr. Robert Corona is the Chief Executive Officer of Upstate Medical University Hospital and Community Hospital in Syracuse, NY, where he is also the John B. Henry Endowed Professor of Experimental Pathology and Senior Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs. Dr. Corona is an emeritus member of the New York State Board for Medicine and past member of the NYSDOH Office of Professional Medical Conduct. Dr. Corona is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in neuropathology, clinical informatics, and anatomic pathology. Dr. Corona previously served as Vice President of Medical and Scientific Affairs and Chief Medical Officer at Welch Allyn, Inc. for 16 years. He has been named one of the top 100 CEOs by Becker’s Review.

Duane Schroder is Vice President of Operations for Waterford Hotel Group and responsible for the oversight of the portfolio’s operations. For more than 30 years, Waterford has established itself as a leading company in the hospitality industry through steady growth and strict adherence to industry fundamentals. Since its inception, Waterford has professionally managed more than 100 hotels nationwide and is an approved operator for most major brands. Duane joined the organization in 2002 as part of an International Training Program with the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. He has filled many positions since that time, including General Manager of numerous hotels in the portfolio and Regional Hotel Director, before stepping into the role of Vice President of Operations. Duane holds a Hospitality Degree from University of the Witwatersrand.

As Director of Hospitality at HKS, Sergio Saenz works with clients throughout the Americas. Sergio leads the architectural team from concept to construction, all while balancing design aesthetics with the very real demands of efficient hotel operations and project budget constraints. He works closely with clients and consultants through the programming and design phases of their projects and has completed numerous projects throughout the United States, Mexico, Europe, South America, the Middle East, and China. Sergio has been the recipient of multiple awards, including the Design Futures Council’s 40 Under 40 and the Luis Barragan Design Media Award. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico.

Stacy Fischer-Rosenthal has dedicated her career to refining the Fischer Travel brand, a membership-only lifestyle company founded by her father. Driven by her passion and knowledge, Stacy recently launched Fischer-Rosenthal Consulting, which advises hotel owners, developers, and management companies on how best to heighten their offerings and services.
