The COVID-19 crisis has dramatically changed the way most of us work. In just a matter of weeks, the situation has created immense organizational uncertainties and placed tremendous pressures on our professional and family lives. These conditions create the perfect storm for workplace conflict, which is exacerbated by stress, uncertainty, and barriers to communication. Dealing with workplace conflicts created by our unusual situation requires a clear understanding of the link between the crisis and the potential for workplace tensions. In these trying times, it’s never been more important to mitigate the negative consequences of workplace conflict by having effective organizational and individual strategies in place.

On April 3rd, Cornell faculty experts will discuss how leaders and individuals can quickly rise to the challenge of managing conflict through crisis.

This one-hour discussion will feature Ariel Avgar, Associate Professor, Labor Relations, Law and History, and Associate Dean for Outreach; Sally Klingel, the Director of Labor Management Relations Programs at the Scheinman Institute; and Katrina Nobles, the Director of Conflict Programs at the Scheinman Institute.
