If for any reason, you need to change the start date of your course, you can self-transfer via your student portal. Please be sure to complete self-transfers by 5 PM EST on the Friday after your course begins (Day 3). If you miss the self-transfer deadline, you can reach out to Student Support to request a transfer no later than 11:59pm EST on the Sunday after your course begins (Day 5) Email:ec_helpdesk@cornell.edu. For more information: eCornell’s Drop/Transfer Policy.

If you miss the transfer/drop deadline, you will need to complete the course or you will receive an incomplete and a refund will not be offered. When that happens, learners may be eligible for a retake of the same course for $75.00.  If you have completed at least 50% of a course, you are able to request an extension of 48 hours from your facilitator.

To earn a mark of complete on your course, you do need to complete all your work and submit it before the course comes to an end.  If you are not able to do that, your course will be marked incomplete.

If you are nearly complete with your work and just need a little more time, we do allow students to contact the facilitator to request an extension.  The facilitator will decide if you qualify for a two-day extension. Please reach out to them via the help section on your student portal.

eCornell courses are designed with working professionals in mind.  The workload will vary from course to course but based on survey results we have collected you will need approximately 6-10 hours total to complete a two-week course. The courses consist of several different elements including, but not limited to, pre-recorded videos, case studies, and tools to help you apply the concepts to your work.  Course assignments could include discussion participation, quizzes and course projects.

A certificate is comprised of more than one course and upon completion, results in the learner receiving a certificate from Cornell University. There is no time limit to how long a learner takes to complete a certificate, as long as the learner is completing the individual courses that comprise the certificate within the course start and end dates.  A course may be part of multiple certificates and upon completion, the learner receives of letter of completion. All course requirements must be completed within the course start and end date for that particular course.

Your course facilitator should be your first point of contact while you are in a course and your question is content or course related.
