The Disability at Work course provides a broad overview of the role HR professionals play in addressing this issue, by maximizing fair disability workplace policies and practices and minimizing disability discrimination across the employment process. We will examine the business case for aligning disability with a company’s strategic human capital, workforce development, and customer service imperatives. By the end of the course, you will be ready to implement effective HR policies and practices in recruitment and hiring, career development and retention, accessibility and accommodations, compensation and benefits, and metrics and analytics.

The Neurodiversity at Work course provides an overview of emerging Neurodiversity at Work employment programs and outlines the implications for human resource policies and practices. We will explore the opportunities and challenges encountered across the employment process in designing and implementing these kinds of initiatives, and the importance of creating a workplace culture that embraces qualified candidates, including those who are neurodivergent. Course topics include background information about autism and neurodiversity; models of effective recruitment, screening, and onboarding; supervisor training and support; best practices for career progression, advancement, and retention; and strategies or building an array of internal and external support systems.
